Between Two Rivers was an event designed to support local artists and small businesses in the Connellsville area. Local studios gathered, inviting visitors to explore and meet the artists. A map was created to guide tourists, helping bring more people into the area and boosting the local economy. PRI supported the event by providing advertising funds. This event helped spread the message that art is for everyone and can be enjoyed by all.
The ROMA NPtP Project provides training and technical assistance nationwide to help Community Action Agencies better integrate Results-Oriented Management and Accountability (ROMA) into their management and operations. This initiative strengthens agencies’ capacity to apply ROMA principles, enhancing efficiency and impact in serving their communities
PRI acquired and renovated a former teen recreation center, transforming it into a dedicated space for seniors to enjoy meals and activities. To make the project sustainable, PRI rented the building back to the senior center, allowing them to raise funds through BINGO events and with additional support from the Area Agency on Aging. Once the building was fully paid off, ownership was transferred to the senior center group, ensuring a permanent home for their community programs.
PRI provided funding for this initiative which set out to understand the deep story behind the negative attitudes of individuals who espoused a willingness to “help the homeless,” but didn’t want “them” in their neighborhood. The initiative hoped through one-on-one conversations with residents in Park Hill (Denver) would begin to acquire sufficient information to create strategies for tackling the “Not in My Backyard” syndrome in the early planning stages of efforts to aid unhoused people.
In 2021, the Touchstone Class Series was launched to give young, disadvantaged, and at-risk children in Uniontown a unique opportunity to explore the world of art. Through three interactive sessions, participants engaged in creative activities such as making pizza, crafting bowls, and planting—each designed to introduce different artistic expressions. The program aimed to inspire children by demonstrating that art is accessible to everyone, fostering confidence and a lifelong appreciation for creativity. PRI identified, developed, and provided the necessary resources to expand the series in collaboration with community partners.
Through a strategic partnership with PRI, the Washington County Food Bank successfully acquired a vital truck to enhance its distribution capabilities. Recognizing the food bank's financial constraints, PRI initially purchased the truck and leased it to the food bank. Once the truck was fully paid off, PRI transferred ownership to the food bank. This collaboration empowered the food bank to extend its delivery services to local pantries.
